You'd be forgiven for being cynical about Predators, after the last view years of AvP methadone. But in an exclusive interview with Coming Soon, director Nimrod Antal is keen to reassure you.

It's going to be R-rated. None of yer PG-13 nonsense. It's going to be properly violent.

There will be minimal CGI: "I think [producer Robert Rodriguez and I] recognize that the original film was as good as it was because of the practical, because it was a guy in a suit, because it was the jungle, so we stay true to that. We were in Hawaii for a month in the jungle, so there's going to be some pretty impressive locations."

Adrian Brody is going to be really good in it: "He plays a mercenary in the film and if you look at the guys in Iraq and Afghanistan today, they're not yolked-out Schwarzenegger-looking guys. They're all very wiry and thin, and I think it's going to play well."

And Antal is extremely respectful of his John McTiernan-directed source. He stood in line to see it when it came out. He had a poster. In short, he has no intention of screwing this up. Time will tell, but at least it seems everyone's intentions are honourable: "I think that the fans who may have been underwhelmed by the last two AVP films, are in for a very pleasant surprise," promises the director...
