Usually found wandering the castle hallways and landscapes of Westeros for Game Of Thrones, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is making one of his regular movie stops, making a deal to star in the new crime thriller **Shot Caller.

And yes, while we often use that term to describe the director, this time it’s just the title of the film, which finds Coster-Waldau as a gangster freshly released from the slammer who is “encouraged” (read: ordered) to pull off a major, violent crime with a rival gang on the streets of Southern California.

There is, however a director attached, with Snitch’s Ric Roman Waugh, who is busy rounding up the rest of the cast with an eye to start shooting in New Mexico at the end of next month. Bold Films is behind this one, with Relativity Studios agreeing to take on distribution for the finished product.

Coster-Waldau is at work on Tina Fey-starring war comedy Fun House and will also be seen Gods Of Egypt, which is going through a lengthy post-production and will be out on February 12 next year.
