Though Nikki Reed is normally found on the edges of the Twilight franchise (she’s Rosalie Cullen in the films), she’s leaving the sparkly vampire life behind to co-star with Jake Hoffman in Snap, a new psychological thriller set in the world of underground Dubstep.
Hoffman, last seen in Barney’s Version, will play a brilliant yet introverted musician who expresses himself through his musical compositions. His life seems to be opening up a little when he develops a crush on a social worker (Reed). But his demons rise up again when their brief romance peters out, and the results are both shocking and tragic. So this one probably won't end with a big song-and-dance number and a kiss, then?
Victor Teran has written the script and will co-direct the film with Cima Productions partner Youssef Delara. The pair has just worked together recently, with Delara writing and co-directing and Teran producing hip hop drama Filly Brown, which got its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. Their plan is to start shooting Snap in late March and have it ready in time to enter next year’s fest.
