Fresh from her triumphant performance in Cold Mountain which garnered her a Golden Globe nomination yesterday, Nicole Kidman is planning something more low key for her next job. Talking to the London Evening Standard, Kidman revealed that she's to record a radio play under the direction of Cold Mountain's Anthony Minghella. The play in question is a poetic piece called The Glass Essay by Canadian poet Anne Carson in which a woman reflects on her own loneliness and despair following the end of an affair. 'It's something I have to do,' Nicole told the paper. 'I'll just go into a recording studio with Anthony. No lights, no cameras, no make-up. Just the two of us. I'll be reading the poem and Anthony will direct me.' And while Kidman and Minghella attempt to find a space in their hectic schedule, the actress is also trying to find an opportunity to take to the London stage once more and to that end has been pestering British playwrights David Hare and Patrick Marber to find her a play. ''I need a new play. I have asked both Patrick and David, but they ignore me,' she whinged to the paper's showbiz correspondent, Baz Bambigoye, 'so I'm asking them through you, Baz.'
