Nicole’s Musical Production

Three years on from wowing the critics with her musical talents in Moulin Rouge, Nicole Kidman will be hoofing it once more when she takes on the lead female role in the new movie version of The Producers. Kidman will play Ulla, the Swedish bombshell secretary of Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom. Bialystock and Bloom will be played by Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick, who turned the characters into one of Broadway's biggest recent hits. Ulla (anyone who's seen the film or show will remember) is required to do little more than look fabulous - oh and answer the phone in Swedish. 'I'm so excited, she's so versatile,' trilled director Susan Stroman to Variety this week as she revealed some of the secrets of the production. As with the film version of Chicago, The Producers will mainly stick to the same sort of staging when it makes the leap to the big screen
