Back in May, the news broke that Charlize Theron had signed on to play former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly in Jay Roach's new film about her old, disgraced boss, Roger Ailes, Fair And Balanced. Roach is clearly not finished locking down big names for his cast, as Nicole Kidman is now in talks to be Gretchen Carlson.

The Big Short's Charles Randolph wrote the script for the film, which will follow Ailes rise and fall. He ran Fox News and helped launch the careers of Kelly, Carlson, and Sean Hannity with his powerful channel. He also was also a prominent figure in Republican circles who helped elect presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and George Bush. He was forced to resign in 2016 due to sexual harassment allegations, with Carlson and Kelly’s the most high-profile, and which contributed to his exit from the network.

Ailes' story will also be told in miniseries form, as Russell Crowe is attached to play the man for small screen project The Loudest Voice In The Room. Fair And Balanced, however, is likely to be even higher profile. In related news about the drama, The Wrap is now reporting that Margot Robbie is also in talks (to play a fictional producer) and the film is currently untitled.

Kidman will next be seen in Aquaman, which will be out on 14 December.
