Though the sexual misconduct and power play scandals of former Fox News boss Roger Ailes came to the small screen with Russell Crowe starring in The Loudest Voice, the big screen exploration of the true-life tale has even bigger names. Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron and Margot Robbie are all leading the cast for Bombshell.

Jay Roach, who has form documenting real-life scandals and political maneuvers for HBO, teamed up with The Big Short writer Charles Randolph for this one. Bombshell follows Ailes' rise and fall, with the man played here by John Lithgow. He ran the controversial conservative-leaning news channel and helped launch the careers of Megyn Kelly (Theron), Gretchen Carlson (Kidman), and Sean Hannity (Spencer Garrett) with his powerful channel. He also was also a prominent figure in Republican circles who helped elect presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and George Bush. He was forced to resign in 2016 due to sexual harassment allegations, with Carlson and Kelly’s the most high-profile, and which contributed to his exit from the network.
