As The Walking Dead continues to spread the franchise out like a zombie plague, another cast member has joined the new, third series, which still lacks an official title. Nico Tortorellawill play a key role in the show.

This new series focuses on the first generation to come of age in the undead apocalypse. As the official line runs, "Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever." Will anyone die a hero or live long enough to see themselves become a villain?

Tortorella, who will juggle his duties here with appearing on US drama Younger, joins a cast that already includes Annet Mahendru, Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Nicolas Cantu and Hal Cumpston. The new arrival plays Felix, a man of his word who fights for the safety and acceptance of others. Matthew Negrete, a Dead writing/producing veteran is running the show alongside creative overlord Scott Gimple, with Kong: Skull Island's Jordan Vogt-Roberts handling the directing chores. Filming is now underway in Richmond, Virginia, and the show will be on the air next year. A teaser recently unveiled a look at some concept art.
