We’re suckers for anything involving Michael Cera, quite frankly – we could watch that guy nervously stutter and blush his way through a reading of the phone book. Which is why we’re looking forward to Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist, a new romantic comedy in which the Arrested Development star appears alongside Kat Dennings as two music-obsessed friends searching for a secret gig in New York.
The movie, which has already been compared to Juno in terms of attitude and laugh-making potential (there’s no teenage pregnancy here) isn’t out here until later in the year, but MTV has the poster, and we like it.
Check it out at MTV. Tell ’em Empire sent ya. Then come back here to read our thoughts.
The main image may be a still from the film, but it’s embellished with nice, idiosyncratic touches which place it just the right side of cool – we particularly like the fact that neither Cera nor Dennings (who was Catherine Keener’s daughter in The 40 Year-Old Virgin) are looking at the camera. Nice, off-the-cuff vibe – rather like a Michael Cera line reading, in fact.
