Herve Villechaize, the actor who played Nick Nack in The Man With The Golden Gun, and also Tattoo on Fantasy Island, is set to be the subject of a biopic produced by American Gangster writer Steve Zaillian.
The French actor, who commited suicide in 1993, was an international star thanks to his acting career, but his personal life was marred by substance abuse, depression and ill-health.
The pic, titled 'My Dinner with Herve', is set to be directed by Sascha Gervasi, the man behind the upcoming Anvil: The Story of Anvil, which is playing at the London Film Festival. Gervasi said "Herve wasn’t just a pop culture icon; he was one of the most charming, cultured and dangerous people I’ve ever met. His is the story of a unique misfit trying to find his place in the world."
Not sure what he means by dangerous, but Nick Nack couldn't half lob a bottle of champagne, so we don't doubt it.
