Thus far, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's company, Stolen Picture, has one produced film on its CV (last year's Slaughterhouse Rulez) and is in the works on several other movies and TV shows. They've now sold a pitch for a new horror movie, Svalta, which Frost will co-write.

Stolen Picture creative directors James Serafinowicz and Nat Saunders are on for script duty alongside Frost, and the film will follow a family heading off for a summer holiday on the remote (fictional) Swedish island that gives the planned movie its title. They discover that a serial killer is on the loose, but that the locals have weirdly little interest in helping stop the threat.

Frost, Pegg and fellow Stolen Picture executive Miles Ketley are producing the film which has been picked up by Orion Pictures. "We are unbelievably excited to be partnering with Simon, Nick, and Miles on Svalta," Orion boss John Hegeman tells Deadline. "The story is scary, awesome and crazy, and their unique voice is perfect for this movie. We can’t wait to bring this to the big screen with them."

Pegg will be heard in The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance and has a brief role in Amazon's The Boys. Frost is part of the cast of Horrible Histories: The Movie – Rotten Romans, which arrives on UK screens on 26 July.
