Given that Simon Pegg added his vocals to the mix for Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, it somehow seems only fair that Nick Frost would get the chance to lay down a track for the next outing in the franchise – Continental Drift.
Frost is among a group of new performers picked to exercise their tonsils on the movie, with Nicki Minaj, Joy Behar and JB Smoove, Heather Morris, Josh Gad, Alan Tudyk and Kunal Nayyar also signing on.
Few explicit plot details have been revealed, but Variety reports that the acorn-hunting actions of Scrat (voiced as always by Age originator Chris Wedge) will start a chain of events that see Sid (John Leguizamo) reunite with his family for the first time. Well, everyone else gets to, so why not him?
All the other regulars are back too, with Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, Seann William Scott, Wanda Sykes, Aziz Ansari, Drake and Josh Peck all signed up.
20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios are behind this one as always, with Steve Martino and Michael Thurmerier taking co-directing duties. We can expect this one on July 6 next year.
