Is Robert Carlyle the nicest man in film today? That's the question fans are asking after reading an interview in today's Daily Mail in which the star admits that he's a big softy when it comes to spreading his wealth around. 'Three years ago I bought [my dad] a house.' Carlyle admitted to the paper. 'On the night we gave him the keys, my wife and I went to an electrical store and bought up the place. When we got to the house, my dad was standing in the doorway, crying as all these things arrived. That's a memory I will take with me for the rest of my life.' Although Carlyle's relationship with the press has been somewhat less rosy, the actor admits to mellowing of late. 'I feel fortunate to be doing what I do,' he says. 'There is a certain amount of pressure that comes with it, but it's hard to be that stressed when you are earning
