Nic Cage Says I Am Wrath

And William Friedkin may direct him

Nic Cage Says I Am Wrath

Hhhm… Anyone think that Nic Cage mostly agreed to be in a film called** I Am Wrath because it gives him the chance to do his crazy-eyes wackadoodle act as a viable character choice? We’re going with that as he signs on the dotted to lead the revenge action thriller.

Wrath, which was born in the brains of Yvan Gauthier and Paul Sloan (with Sloan going on to write the script), finds a bloke called Stanley Goodspeed distraught after the murder of his wife. But when the police are unable to collar those responsible, he discovers that they’re mired in corruption and decides to take matters into his own hands.

Cue Stanley going vigilante as he wades into the officers’ behaviour and swears to take down the perpetrators, even if they happen to be wearing a uniform. We predict a riot. Also, shouting.

Empire** podcast interviewee William Friedkin, a man who has made one or two notable crime thrillers in his time, is looking to make this as his follow up to Killer Joe. Would Nicolas Cage be a step up in crazy from Matthew McConaughey there? Quite possibly. Colour us intrigued!

If all goes to plan, Emmet / Furla Films wants this shooting February.
