New Spider-Man Trailer Anyone going to the cinema in the UK from today may be lucky enough to catch the all new International Spider-Man trailer. Showing before Columbia TriStar films (like 50 First Dates) this will provide all new footage for you to feast your greedy little eyes on. And if that's not enough, Good Friday heralds a very special treat. No, we don't mean salvation for your souls but rather something far more exciting: the new Internet Exclusive Spidey trailer, which will be appearing on www.sonypictures.co.uk. Can I get an Amen? Woo-hah, Woo-hah Anyone with a Gamecube (or indeed any Nintendo console) will likely have sampled the wonders of Metroid. Featuring female space fighter Samus Aran, the games see her perpetually kicking Metroid arse as she battles her way across the galaxy. Well, action-meister John Woo has taken on the project and will produce (and possibly direct) Samus in her transition to the big screen. The film is to be released before 2006 and will chart the origins of Samus and her first encounters with the Metroids. Fantasy Folly If Knightmare's Tregard were here, he'd be booming 'Falsehood!' and rubbing his grey-flecked beard in consternation. Mindless of the fact that the original film was a steaming pile of goblin poo, Dungeons and Dragons 2 has been optioned and is set to begin shooting in Europe this year. With almost no redeeming features, the first film fell way short of the eighties cartoon and, chances are, this one will too. Bring back Venger and the little bald dungeon master, that's what we say. From Husk Till Corn Concerned about how your DVD collection is harming the environment? Well fear no longer because a new generation of discs is coming - made from corn. Sanyo's MildDiscs replace the traditional polycarbonate with polylactic acid, derived from corn, thus making the discs fully bio-degradable. Commendable, to be sure, but we plan to have our movie collections buried alongside us - much like pharaohs of old.
