While there is a new world referred to in the full trailer for Westworld's second season, it's more the one that the rebellious hosts will be building on the ashes of the luxury playground that formed the backbone of the first run. Check out scenes of chaos below.
Now that the late Robert Ford's (Anthony Hopkins) plan to give his hosts sentience has resulted in a violent overthrow of the place, it's time for the likes of Evan Rachel Wood's Dolores and Thandie Newton's Maeve to rise to power. Of course, it won't be quite that simple, especially since they are essentially inside a giant theme park and humanity's allied forces could come calling at any point.
For now, though, in this promo directed by series co-creator Jonathan Nolan, is mostly content to give us arty shots of artificial life in revolt. Expect the mysteries to resume and the story to restart when the show returns on 22 April, at least in the States, with probably a simulcast in the night and/or a return to the show for Sky Atlantic on 23 April.
