As a graphic novel series, Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's The Boys does not hold back when it comes to violence or language. And the new, full trailer for the Amazon show adapted from it captures that in all its bloody, witty, ruthless glory. Check it out, but be warned it lives up to the whole "uncensored" tag.
With Preacher duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg as executive producers, this comes from writer/showrunner Erik Kripke (creator of Supernatural) and 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg.
The Boys is set in a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame. A group of vigilantes known informally as "The Boys" set out to take down corrupt heroes with no more than their blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about "The Seven," and Vought – the multi-billion dollar conglomerate that manages these superheroes.
The likes of Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty and Laz Alonso among the cast, The Boys will be on Amazon on 26 July.
