While his prolific writing has been a consistent source of material for movies and TV across the years, Stephen King is certainly having A Moment, between the likes of It and even The Dark Tower. King's fictional setting of Castle Rock is headed to TV screens via executive producer JJ Abrams, and the new trailer is online.

A locale shared by several King stories including Cujo, The Dark Half, Needful Things and Rita Hayworth And The Shawshank Redemption (and mentioned in others), the town is here presented as a place where horrors share space with the terrified citizens.

The latest round of creepiness is sparked by the mysterious arrival of a young man (played by It's own Pennywise, Bill Skarsgård, so you know he's probably not on the side of the angels) at Shawshank. From there, the horror builds...

Melanie Lynskey, Scott Glenn, André Holland, Jane Levy and Sissy Spacek also feature in the stacked cast. Castle Rock will debut in the US via streaming service Hulu on 25 July, but there isn't a UK broadcaster just yet.
