How many people really think they are descended from Russia's royal Romanoff line? Turns out it's more than you might think, and for his show to follow Mad Men, Matthew Weiner has decided to create a sprawling anthology drama comedy to follow various stories of people who make that claim. See the latest trailer below.

With Amazon's Prime Video service providing the backing, Weiner has gone global with this one, with eight episodes set in locations such as Europe, America and the Far East, with plenty of location work.

And he's also assembled a huge, recognizable cast, with Mad Men veterans John Slattery and Christina Hendricks among them. Aaron Eckhart, Isabelle Huppert, Diane Lane, Amanda Peet, Kathryn Hahn, Corey Stoll, Kerry Bishé, Jack Huston are also part of the impressive roster of talent involved.

Episodes one (The Violet Hour) and two (The Royal We) will debut on 12 October, with the rest following on a weekly basis.
