We've had a couple of glimpses of Laika's new stop-motion animation Kubo And The Two Strings, and here comes the latest look. Check out the new trailer below.
The film features Art Parkinson as the clever and kind-hearted Kubo, who lives quietly telling fantastical stories to people in his seaside town. But when he accidentally summons a mythical, ancient spirit that is pursuing an age-old vendetta and destroys his village, Kubo has to go on the run. He joins forces with Monkey (Charlize Theron) and Beetle (Matthew McConaughey) for a quest to save his family and solve the mystery of his father’s death. With his shamisen (a magical musical instrument), Kobo will have to battle gods and monsters.
This trailer pushes the mystical, adventurous elements to the forefront – lots of talk of destiny and suchlike – and dials back the humour slightly, but still shows off the usual left field Laika charm.
Rooney Mara, Ralph Fiennes and George Takei are among the rest of the voice cast for this one, which will hit the UK on September 9.
