New Trailer For Deadfall

Austrian director Stefan Ruzowitzky must have had a bunch of offers from Hollywood since winning an Oscar for his excellent holocaust morality play The Counterfeiters back in 2008. Dubiously-gained windfalls and a quest for survival feature strongly in his US debut Deadfall too, as the film's new trailer demonstrates.

Zach Dean's debut script puts a new spin on that age-old question: what will, or perhaps more relevantly, what won't people do for money? A brother and sister pair, Addison (Eric Bana) and Liza (Olivia Wilde), are on the lam after a casino job goes awry. Then a car crash, leaves them stranded in the back and beyond.

Complicating matters are an ex-boxer Jay (Charlie Hunnam), trying to make his way home for Thanksgiving, and a whiteout on the Canadian border through which the fugitives must find a way. What follows looks like it might just have shades of The Last House On The Left as Jay inadvertently forces his parents, Sissy Spacek and Kris Kristofferson, to step up.

There's no UK release date for **Deadfall **as yet but it's out Stateside on December 7.
