We've now reached the year in which the future portions of Back To The Future Part II take place, and it's also the thirtieth anniversary of the original film. To mark both those auspicious landmarks, production of an exhaustive documentary has been underway for a while. As it approaches its home stretch, here's a new trailer for **Back In Time to give us a taste of what's been happening.
Jason Aron is the director, with Lee Leshen the producer. The pair have assembled an impressive cast of talking heads from the trilogy, including Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Claudia Wells, director Robert Zemeckis, producer Bob Gale, composer Alan Silvestri, and enthusiasts such as Community's Dan Harmon. Sadly there's no sign of Crispin Glover, but that was probably to be expected...
Along with the making-of stories, the film also examines the fan culture that's built up around the franchise over the last three decades. "It's great to have a bunch of lunatics on your side," says Fox.
The latest phase of a Kickstarter campaign is currently underway to see Back In Time through its final phase. If you fancy contributing and bagging yourself a T-shirt, the link is here.
