It's been a busy and disorientating year for Eric Bana whose time-travelling exploits as Nero in Star Trek are about to be reprised in a less Vulcan-baiting context in the much-delayed The Time Traveler's Wife. Here's the new trailer and a new poster to whet your appetite.
The time-shift romance, based on Audrey Niffenegger's best-selling novel, sees Bana play Henry deTamble, a librarian who involuntarily travels through time when under stress. During his travels deTamble falls in love with Rachel McAdam's young artist who he continues to meet at different stages of her life. Think Benjamin Button on shuffle or The Time Machine directed by Cilla Black.

No official reason has been given for the release being pushed back from 2008. A reshoot complicated by Eric Bana's clean-shaved Nero noggin was one reason, but it's been 18 months since first stills were released, so fingers are crossed that New Line's adaptation will do justice to the bittersweet loveliness of Neffenegger's novel. **
The Time Traveler's Wife** is directed by Robert Schwentke (Flightplan) and appears in cinemas on Friday 14 August.
