New Tiger King Episode Is An After-Show Hosted By Joel McHale

Just last week, word arrived that Netflix was planning to capitalise on the incredible popularity of docuseries Tiger King: Murder Mayhem And Madness, which should be a surprise to exactly no one. Now we know the form that will take: an after-show extra episode to be hosted by Community's Joel McHale, and announced by the man himself.

The series, which chronicles the wild, dangerous, crazed and – for the animals – cruel world of mulleted, gay, explosive-toting big cat obsessive Joe Exotic and the various weird characters who populate his particular strange-but-true world.

One thing though, that the new show will not offer? Exotic himself, unless there's a surprise planned. And while McHale will be talking to many of those involved in the original series about their lives since, Carole Baskin, exotic's crusading nemesis and the subject of murderous suspicion, has declined to be part of the show.

This new episode will hit the streaming service on 12 April It's an Easter Sunday miracle!

And Tiger King has spawned a massive amount of interest from other networks, with channels across the pond such as TMZ and ID planning their own true-crime peeks into the story. Kate McKinnon is heading up a limited series that is based on the original podcast that covered Exotic and his story. Ryan Murphy and Rob Lowe, meanwhile, are campaigning to make an American Crime Story-style series or TV movie, starring the latter as Joe Exotic.
