We don’t imagine there are too many people who need reminding that the next Thor film, The Dark World, is set to land here at the end of October. Marvel isn’t taking any chances, however, and the campaign to keep it at the forefront of our noggins continues with a new featurette that boasts some of the cast and crew explaining what we can expect.

“Thor is stepping into the role of king, and coming to terms with the responsibilities that becoming king carries,” says Chris Hemsworth, who carries the mantle (and hammer) of the thunder god himself, pointing to the fact that Asgard’s finest will have even more growing up to do in this one than in the first Thor outing.

We’ll also be treated to a trip that encompasses more than simply one or two chunks of the wider Marvel universe. “Part of the adventure of this movie will be to go beyond what we’ve seen before, so we will be off-world a lot more, will be discovering more of the Nine Realms” explains director Alan Taylor. “Jane Foster will be taken to Asgard and beyond, and have to cope with that.”

This new look at the movie includes brief peeks behind the scenes, including the fact that, as Taylor mentioned when we talked to him at D23, Stonehenge would feature in some capacity. Can we expect Spinal Tap to show up on the soundtrack? We doubt it, but live in hope.

Another part of the film’s awareness campaign will take advantage of Marvel’s ties to Disney. Following on from a display of Tony Stark’s suits at California’s Disneyland prior to Iron Man 3 hitting screens, there will be a Thor attraction, though the details are still being worked out. Frankly, if they just set up a booth where people can take pictures with Tom Hiddleston, the park’s crowds will double…

Thor: The Dark World is out in the UK on October 30. Check out the latest trailer below and our footage breakdown here.
