There's a new featurette online for **Angels & Demons, designed to highlight Hans Zimmer's (rather lovely) score but also giving us lots more glimpses of the look of the film itself, suggesting that whatever one might think of Dan Brown's prose or the plot of the film, it's going to look completely gorgeous.
The story sees The Da Vinci Code's Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) facing a new mystery when the death of a scientist at CERN in Geneva leads him to Rome in pursuit of a plot against the Vatican. As he races around town, against the clock, the camera pauses to linger on the Baroque details of the city, and light everything by firelight. At least, that's what we're taking from this trailer. We also get to see Hanks cutting a fine dash through the pool at his home university of Harvard, where his Langdon is professor of "religious iconography and symbology".
The film also stars Ewan McGregor, Ayelet Zurer, Stellan Skarsgard, Pierfrancesco Favino, Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Armin Mueller-Stahl, with Ron Howard returning as director. It's out in the UK on May 14.
