New Still From The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug

After a shot of Bilbo getting his hands on some of Smaug’s gold stash (no doubt to the giant dragon’s annoyance), we’re back in elf territory for this latest still from The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smau****g, as** **Evangeline Lilly’s Tauriel and Orlando Bloom’s Legolas take a moment to talk. They’re probably discussing strategy or trying to figure out which of them is better looking (tough call), or something important like that.

Either way, it’s nice to see a shot of the pair together, even if they shouldn’t technically be sharing the screen at all because (whisper it) Tauriel’s a character invented for the movies and Legolas doesn’t appear in this book at all.

Such worries can be tossed aside, however, with the promise that the second Hobbit outing will up the adventure levels and find our heroes braving Mirkwood Forest on their journey to the Lonely Mountain to kill the dragon usurper and recover the dwarves' lost kingdom.

With Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Lee Pace, Manu Bennett, Aidan Turner, Billy Connolly, James Nesbitt, Graham McTavish, Dean O’Gorman, Benedict Cumberbatch and more among the huge cast for this one, The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug arrives on December 13.
