New Skyline Trailer Descends

The most recent trailer for the Strause brothers’ new sci-fi thriller Skyline only arrived last month, but now we have another chance to see lots more destruction, courtesy of A) marauding, rampaging aliens and B) Apple.

Yes, you definitely get to see a lot more this time around from the movie, which sees nasty extraterrestrial types descend from the heavens and start snatching up human beings willy-nilly for nefarious, unspecified purposes, though we’d be ready to bet they’ve read popular alien cookbook To Serve Man.

The invasion is presented, Cloverfield-style, through the eyes (but fortunately not the shaky camcorder) of several LA friends, who are rudely awakened after a party in a swanky penthouse to discover the mysterious beams of light striking the city.

This time around, we get to see the light’s real effect on its victims, and it looks to either be seriously blinding them or infecting them with a nasty virus. Oh, and the beams appear to be just one of our heroes’ worries, as once they get out on to the streets, there are giant, car-stomping alien beasties wandering about (told you it was Cloverfield-esque).

Give the trailer a gander over at Apple and decide how you’d survive this particular attack. Think the aliens have a weak spot? Will the humans need to find a giant mirror to reflect the invaders’ killer rays against them? We're smart, we are.*

We’ll find out for sure when the movie arrives on November 12.

**But for the record, we also welcome our new alien overlords. *
