As the DCEU continues to dig into its lighter side (and blending the silly with the epic certainly seems to have paid off for Aquaman), the next offering down the pipeline is the distinctly comical Shazam!, which has put out a new trailer.
The basics are as follows: foster kid Billy Batson (Asher Angel) is dealing with the slings and arrows of life when a wizard (Djimon Hounsou) chooses him to be the recipient of his powers. By saying the word "Shazam", Billy transforms into a grown superhero (Zachary Levi) who can fly, has superior strength, is bullet proof and can command lightning energy... But he'll have to learn how to harness all that if he's to deal with the plans of Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).
This new teaser offers some fresh footage, ramping up the action quotient while maintaining the funny. Fingers crossed the blend works for director David F. Sandberg and his team. Shazam! will be in cinemas on 5 April.
