The first trailer for DreamWorks Animation’s latest ‘toon adventure, Rise Of The Guardians, talked about the team of legendary characters who help keep kiddies’ imaginations safe around the world. Now comes the new promo which, while it still gives the others their moment in the sun, focuses more on newcomer Jack Frost, voiced by Chris Pine. Take a look over at Apple.
Jack is a young-looking (but actually ancient) elemental who likes nothing more than being on his own, spreading wintry chill and causing minor chaos. But then he’s recruited by the Guardians: North (Santa, played by Alec Baldwin), Bunnymund (the Easter Bunny, Hugh Jackman), Tooth (the Tooth Fairy, Isla Fisher) and Sandy the Sandman, who doesn’t speak but produces images using, well… you can guess that one.
They decide Jack is vital to fighting off an old threat that has suddenly returned, Pitch (Jude Law), who delights in spreading fear and nightmares. Frost isn’t initially all that keen on being part of a team, but we’d guess he’ll warm up soon enough. Assuming that doesn’t make him melt…
This one looks to be a visually inventive and funny (particularly Jackman’s grumpy rabbit) ride, but the real test will come when it arrives on November 30.
