Are you older than 17? Have you shooed anyone who* isn't* older than 17, who might be offended/warped by naughty words or the sight of Tony Shalhoub getting tasered, out of the room? Have you covered the eyes and ears of sensitive types and nearby animals? Have you made sure you’re in a workplace that won’t show you the door for watching Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson be bungling criminals? You have? Congratulations! You may now watch the Red Band trailer for Michael Bay’s** Pain And Gain **over at Yahoo!.
Yep, the “grown-up” promo for Bay’s latest, which is the dark, comic, based-on-truth story of two muscle-headed bodybuilders who decide to make their lives better by resorting to illegal means. Specifically, kidnapping an annoying rich guy who frequents their gym and demanding all his dosh.
Wahlberg and Johnson (not to mention the likes of Anthony Mackie, Rebel Wilson, Ed Harris, Rob Corddry and Ken Jeong) look like they’re having a fine old time in the film, which hopefully translates to a gonzo experience in the cinema. The new promo, with the ability to show more of the movie, is certainly an entertaining one, with both leading men showing off their comedy chops at the same time as their bulging biceps. And Shalhoub makes for a great arsehole.
Promising much more of a Bad Boys feel than the bloated Transformers films from Bay, we’re excited to see this one. We’ll have to be patient, though – it doesn’t hit the UK until August 28.
