Back in November we were treated to the first teaser, and now here's a full trailer for **Project X, the Todd Phillips-produced party-gone-wrong movie. Or is it, despite the carnage, a party gone oh-so-right?
This new clip broadens the canvas to take in some early context and preparations for the party, and introduces a new character, in a neighbour who probably wishes he hadn't bothered to complain. It also does a good job of teasing the sheer boggling scale of the nightmare. And the moral here: if you send out a hundred invites, remember to cater for all the plus ones...
Todd Phillips' name (The Hangover Parts I & II, Old School, Road Trip), is all over this, but it's actually directed by newcomer Nima Nourizadeh, who's taken the found-footage route. Appropriate that, given that it's a technique generally used for horror. Thomas Mann, Jonathan Daniel Brown and Oliver Cooper are the guys wielding the handheld cameras and documenting the escalation from party to warzone.
Kid 'n' Play's House Party advocated no drinking or drugs, and, if you must, safe sex. This one's more along Andrew WK lines. In the States, Project X is rated R for "crude and sexual content throughout, nudity, drugs, drinking, pervasive language, reckless behaviour and mayhem". It's out in the UK on March 2.
