New Prisoners Trailer Online

A little less than a month ago, the first trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s intense new thriller Prisoners arrived on the web. Today brings a “new” promo, and we use the qualifiers around that word because an awful lot of the footage is recycled from that original teaser. But there’s enough to justify taking a look, so head on over to Apple, even if, like the first, it might give away a bit too much.

Prisoners stars Hugh Jackman as small-town family man Keller Dover. He’s happy to spend time with wife Grace and daughter Anna and hang out with friends including Terrence Howard and Viola Davis.

Then a situation that any parent dreads strikes: the couples’ daughters go missing from their sleepy neighbourhood and soon the search is on. Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) shows up and promptly arrests the suspicious-seeming Paul Dano. But when the cops fail to find enough evidence to keep Dano in custody, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands.

The desperate father will do whatever it takes to find the girls, but in doing so, may lose himself. This promises to be a gripping exploration of morals, murder and the lengths to which a man will go to try to save his child.

Prisoners will hit the US on September 20 and is out here on October 4.
