Last week gave us the first theatrical trailer (at the bottom of the page) for the Kickstarted-back-from-the-dead Veronica Mars, brought to cinema screens thanks to the belief and bank accounts of fans who crowdsourced the funds to get it made. Now, via Yahoo and the film’s Kickstarter page, comes a poster and some new stills.

The poster very much invokes Veronica (Kristen Bell)’s days as a teenage detective, and points to the fact that she’ll have to draw on her natural skill set to solve a new mystery. As the movie, co-written and directed by series creator Rob Thomas opens, Veronica has put Neptune and her amateur sleuthing days behind her on the eve of graduating law school. While interviewing at high-end law firms, Veronica gets a call from her ex-boyfriend Logan (Jason Dohring) who has been accused of murder. Veronica heads back to Neptune just to help Logan find an attorney, but when things don’t seem right in how Logan’s case is perceived and handled, Veronica finds herself pulled back into a life she thought she had left behind…

Thomas also used the latest Kickstarter update to announce that the film will premiere at this year’s SXSW, which will run between March 7 and March 15 this year in Austin.** Veronica Mars** is scheduled for a release in the US on March 14, but there’s no information on a UK date yet.
