Disney has released a new theatrical teaser poster for Up, the next film from Pixar Animation Studios.
Perhaps surprisingly, there are no cute animal characters in sight, at least not the protagonists. Plot follows Carl Fredrickson, a 78-year old man who feels life has passed him by. One day he meets Russell, an 8-year old wilderness explorer, whose fearless attitude and inquisitive nature gives Carl a new lease on life. With land developers threatening Carl’s home, and scenic world he inhabits, he and Russell embark on a grand adventure, encountering harsh terrain, wild creatures and unexpected villains.

Expect Pixar’s usual mix of family-friendly themes, with all the laughs, tears and sentiment that goes along with it. Up is released in May 2009.
