Set to get its premiere – and hopefully conjure up a distribution deal in the process – at the Toronto International Film Festival, Alexandre Aja’s adaptation of Joe Hill’s ace book Horns sees Daniel Radcliffe dealing with a slightly more demonic issue than Harry Potter ever had to face. New images from the film are up at Entertainment Weekly and you can check out the gallery below.
Radcliffe plays Ig Perrish, the never-convicted prime suspect for the violent rape and murder of his girlfriend Merrin (Juno Temple). Hungover from a night of hard drinking, Ig awakens one morning to find horns starting to grow from his own head and soon realizes their power drives people to confess their sins and give in to their most selfish and unspeakable impulses – an effective tool in his quest to discover the true circumstances of his late girlfriend’s tragedy and to exact revenge on her killer.
The book is a dark, beautifully written tale of regret, redemption and retribution, and it’ll be interesting to see how Aja and co have brought it to life. Until Horns finds a distribution company, however, there likely won’t be much chance of seeing footage outside of Festivals.
James Remar, Kelli Garner, Max Minghella and Kendra Anderson also feature in the film, and you can see one more image from it over at EW.
