USA Today has published the first pic of the Predator/Alien hybrid from Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem. We saw a glimpse of the little guy at the end of AvP, but here he is all growns up. Really, he looks a bit rubbish, like a horrific version of the Play Doh Mop Top Hair Shop{
The article does have some encouraging quotes from the directors, Greg and Colin Strause, about how they're returning to Alien's economic scares. That includes going back to using men in suits rather than computer generated aliens, which have never worked. "You're not going to see 50 digital creatures running around," said Greg. "We want to bring the franchise back to basics. That's what made them so frightening in the first place".
This series really needs to look at its origins to get back on track, so it's good that the directors are talking about going back to basics, rather than trying to be bigger on action than AvP. We're actually starting to tentatively look forward to this, which, after Paul W.S. Anderson's glop, we never thought we'd say.
You can see a bunch more pics of the monster here.
