If you enjoyed Coraline, you were no doubt delighted to learn that the talented types behind that stop-motion delight have been hard at work on an entirely original film called ParaNorman. We’ve already had a look at the first trailerbut now a new promo is online over at Apple.
This time, we’re clued in to more of the story, which finds young Norman (Kodi Smit-McPhee) as your average high school nerd. He has a few friends, but is largely the target for bullies. But he’s also not so average in one very specific way: he can see and talk to ghosts, many of whom he counts as his friends.
When a particularly nasty spirit called the Witch’s Ghost threatens his town with zombies thanks to an ancient curse, it’ll take all of Norman’s powers and his bravery to save everyone he loves.
With a great cast that also includes Jeff Garlin, Bernard Hill, Leslie Mann, Casey Affleck, John Goodman, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Anna Kendrick, ParaNorman digs deep into writer/co-director Chris Butler’s love of ‘80s horror and genre films for what promises to be a lot of fun.
ParaNorman will rise from the post-production grave into cinemas on September 14.
