It's been a few years since Paramount went to the scare well that is the low-budget Paranormal Activity franchise, but it likely won't surprise you to learn that the studio is teaming up once more with producer Jason Blum to get back into the chiller business.
The 2009 original, which Oren Peli directed for a minimal cost, become a huge hit after Blum and other producers (including Steven Spielberg) snapped it up, spawning a six-film series and a Japanese spin-off in the years that followed.
Paramount chairman Jim Gianopulos announced at the studio's CineEurope presentation to distributors that a new movie is in the works, though he declined to specify anything about it, including the name or who will be making it besides Blum's team.
In related horror news, it was revealed that A Quiet Place 2 has officially kicked off production, with writer/director John Krasinski sharing a video from the set. The sequel will be out on 20 March next year, and new details came via an interview with new recruit Brian Tyree Henry, who will appear alongside returning star Emily Blunt.
