Having seen festival reactions to his new film, historical drama Outlaw King, director David Mackenzie has returned to the editing room to finesse and slice down the running time of the movie. And a new trailer is now online.
Mackenzie's latest follows the untold, true story of Robert The Bruce (Chris Pine), who transformed from defeated nobleman, to reluctant King, to outlaw hero over the course of an extraordinary year. Forced into battle in order to save his family, his people and his country from the oppressive English occupation of medieval Scotland, Robert seizes the Scottish crown and rallies a ragtag group of men to face off against the wrath of the world's strongest army lead by the ferocious King Edward I (Stephen Dillane) and his volatile son, the Prince of Wales (Billy Howie).
The likes of Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Florence Pugh and Tony Curran show up in the cast, and Netflix plans a limited cinema release to coincide with its debut on the streaming service on 9 November.
