Clone drama Orphan Black left our screens in 2017 after five seasons of twisty action and an Emmy for lead actress Tatiana Maslany. US channel AMC (part of the same company as originators BBC America) is considering a new show set in the same world.

Variety reports that the channel isn't looking to make a direct spin-off or reboot the concept; instead it'll follow new characters in a storyline tangential to the original.

Created by John Fawcett and Graeme Manson, the series starred Maslany as a woman who discovers that she is a clone and that someone is plotting to kill her and her clone “sisters", all of which were played by the lead.

Nothing is officially known about the new show yet, since it's currently at the stage of bringing in writers to pitch takes on what shape it could take. Still, it's interesting to note this new development, especially given the original show was critically beloved and had a solid fanbase, but never soared in the ratings.
