It feels like decades since The New Mutants was first announced. The first trailer was unleashed upon the world in 2017. And according to the latest teaser clip, which is here to point us all towards its planned virtual panel at Comic-Con@Home on 23 July.
Josh Boone directed the movie, which has been through a traumatic post-production process and seen one release date after another re-scheduled, even before the pandemic started to affect everything. The film follows a younger batch of super-powered mutants, who find themselves in a strange institution where their greatest fears are realised. They have to band together to fight back and find their way out.
Boone will be part of the panel alongside stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt and Henry Zaga. Currently, the film is scheduled for release on 28 August, though we're still waiting to see whether it actually makes it into cinemas at a time when so much of the world's cinematic exhibition system is at an unknown juncture.
