Clearly positioning itself as the scarier side of the X-Men cinematic universe, The New Mutants has amped up the creepy stylings in its trailer and one poster to date. The latest image keeps on that track.
Josh Boone is the director behind the story of younger mutants who end up forming a new team, learning to cope with their powers and trying they escape a secret facility where they've been imprisoned.
Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Henry Zaga, Blu Hunt, Alice Braga and Charlie Heaton are all aboard the film, with Boone talking up how the film will establish its own feel within the shared universe. "Fox made Deadpool and Logan and they were sort of so tonally different they felt embolden to let us go make it different, and make have its own distinct tone and identity. I think of the mainline X-Men movies more as grand operative science-fiction films. This is much more of a performance-driven horror film."
New Mutants is headed our way, locking down an 11 April release next year.
