The third trailer for DreamWorks’ latest animated offering – superhero trope tweak **Megamind – has gone online over at Apple.
Given that this is just the latest promo to hit the web, you’re probably already aware of the story, but just in case… Megamind follows two alien orphans who arrive on Earth under very different conditions. Metro Man (Brad Pitt) finds himself in the comfortable home of a wealthy family, who give him everything he wants, leading to him becoming the protector of Metro City. And then there’s Megamind (Will Ferrell), who crash lands in a prison, is raised by the inmates and sees his life follow a more villainous path.
But all that changes when the goofy wannabe supervillain finally manages to best his smug nemesis. You’d think he’d be happy, but Megamind actually misses the rivalry, and when a new villain emerges in Jonah Hill’s Titan, our anti-hero spots his chance to make a difference, dragging along ace reporter Roxanne Ritchi (Tina Fey) for good measure.
This latest trailer offers up a lot more new footage than we’ve seen before, including giving Megamind’s sidekick, Minion (voiced by the ace David Cross) some actual dialogue.
While we’re still not quite convinced it’ll have the same impact as The Incredibles, there are a few decent gags here and there, and it’s nice not to see all the old ones trotted out by the previous promos.
Head over to Apple to see the footage. **Megamind **invades our cinemas on December 3.
