The early word on Peter Jackson's adaptation of The Lovely Bones is that Susan Sarandon is on fine form as the family matriarch, Grandma Lynn. And here's proof: a short clip from the film that just went live on Yahoo.
Sarandon's rather glamorous grandma plays a key role in the family, helping to hold things together despite her eccentricities following the disappearance of 14 year-old Susie Salmon (Saoirse Ronan). With Rachel Weisz and Mark Wahlberg as the frantic parents of the missing girl, she fills out a slightly disfunctional family that works hard to stay together.
The Lovely Bones is out on January 29, 2010 in the UK.
