It was spotted both at rest and roaring around the streets of Boston while Paul Feig and co. shot the new Ghostbusters, but now Sony has provided a nice, clear look at one of the vehicles used by Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and the rest of the new team, the Ecto-2 motorbike.
As built by Madhouse Motors for the movie, the bike shows off the even more home-made aesthetic of this fresh breed of 'busters. We're not sure that weapon strapped on to the handlebars should be used, because it looks like it could fly off at any moment. But it's still a fun addition to the GB crew's equipment, supplementing the usual Ecto-1 car for when they need to tear around New York.
Feig’s film, which stars Wiig, McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon, follows four women who go into the paranormal elimination business, are laughed at, then triumph when their theories about a rising level of spectral nuisances in New York are proved correct. Cameos from several of the surviving original Ghostbusters cast are expected, including Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Dan Aykroyd.
With a script by Feig and Katie Dippold, the new Ghostbusters will bring its neutron wands to bear on our screens on July 15. We're promised a trailer before the end of the month.
