After the first Larry Crowne trailer arrived through more usual channels, it would seem that regular Twitter user Tom Hanks has decided to take marketing matters into his own hands, releasing a new promo through the social networking system, which you can watch below.
Crowne, which Hanks co-wrote, produced and directed, finds the actor as an easygoing everyman content to spend his middle aged years working at a big box megastore. But when the worker bee, who is regularly picked as employee of the month, gets downsized he decides to re-invent himself.
Step one is enrolling at a local community college to broaden his education. There, he meets a group of misfit fellow students, joins a scooter gang and starts to fall for fetching lecturer Mercedes Tainot (Julia Roberts), a woman who is also looking for something new in her life. And Larry could be the solution…
The cast is loaded with great performers including Bryan Cranston, Pam Grier, George Takei (who gets a great line in the new promo), Taraji P Henson, Gugu Mbatha Raw, Rob Riggle and Rita Wilson.
Larry Crowne is released on July 1.
