It was perhaps the movie world's worst-kept secret, teased last year with a poster featuring the quote "Rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated". Now it's official, written in solid gold ink: Colin Firth will be back for the Kingsman sequel, and earns top billing on the latest poster. Take a look below.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle, the follow-up to 2015's sleeper hit Kingsman: The Secret Service, will reunite director Matthew Vaughn with his regular screenwriter Jane Goldman, and returning cast members Firth, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Sophie Cookson and Edward Holcroft.
This time around, Egerton's gentleman spy Eggsy joins forces with the Kingsman's US counterparts, the Statesmen, to to stop the machinations of Poppy (Julianne Moore.) Vaughn has gathered quite the cast around them, with Jeff Bridges, Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal and Elton John. No, seriously, Elton John. That Elton John.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle arrives in September, by which time we will have discovered exactly how those rumours of death were so greatly exaggerated.
John Boyega was almost the star of Kingsman: The Secret Service.
