Guy Ritchie's King Arthur film, Legend Of The Sword, has faced more than a few delays as it attempts to launch a new franchise of interlinked Arthurian adventures. But the first movie is finally headed to our screens in May. The latest teaser poster is now online.
Going for that well-used concept of putting words over a colour-leached image of its main character, the poster doesn't exactly establish itself as all that striking, but it does at least serve to remind you that Charlie Hunnam plays Arthur this time around.
The movie is set in the time before he got the "king" part. Raised on the streets after his royal family was essentially slaughtered by his evil uncle (Jude Law), Arthur appears at first to have no particular yen for a heroic destiny. But then comes the bit with the sword and the stone and... Well, that's for the film to say. But suffice to say we can expect Hunnam's hero to be finding himself and his noble calling, and plenty of Ritchie's stylistic tricks with the narrative.
The likes of Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, Aidan Gillen and Eric Bana help fill out the cast, and the movie itself rides in on 12 May.
