UPDATE: The final poster for The Jungle Book has landed, introducing the two most familiar characters from the story, that lovable, bare-necessity-espousing bear Baloo and his irrepressible man-cub pal Mowgli.
The second poster shows off Idris Elba's menacing tiger, Shere Khan. Atogether now: "Khaaaaaaaan!"
We're promised a set of three posters for Disney's new version of The Jungle Book this week. Here's the first of them, showcasing majestic orang-utan King Louie, and slippery snake Kaa. And some jungle ruins, and some of Louie's little monkey subjects.
With a script by Justin Marks, Jon Favreau’s film uses a blend of computer-generated animals and a real Neel Sethi to breathe new life into Rudyard Kipling's classic story. Sethi is Mowgli, the human orphan raised by animals in the jungle. Christopher Walken is the voice of King Louie, ruler of the jungle’s monkeys and apes, while Giancarlo Esposito is Akela, leader of the wolf pack that initially cares for Mowgli. Ben Kingsley is panther Bagheera; Lupita Nyong’o is wolf mother Racksha; Bill Murray is bear pal Baloo; Idris Elba is lethal tiger Shere Khan; and Scarlett Johansson is the charming, deadly snake Kaa.
Pick up the new issue of Empire for more on The Jungle Book before its release on April 15, 2016. And keep checking back here for the rest of this new poster triptych.
